Extraction
Extraction is how you mine an asteroid belt: one ore unit into your hold every three ticks, climbing a six-mineral ladder from sand to voidglass.

Point your hold at the rock; the tick does the rest.
The Extraction Order
Order a mining ship to a belt and it begins extracting automatically: one unit of ore every three ticks, straight into the hold. Extraction stops on its own once the hold is full or the belt runs dry, and a drained belt refills over time, so it is never gone for good.
Six Minerals, One Ladder
The galaxy holds six minerals on a value ladder that roughly doubles with danger. Sand, the cheapest, sits in the safe starter region; voidglass, the richest, waits only in the deep dark. The further you haul from safety, the more each unit is worth. See Asteroid Belts for the full tier-by-tier breakdown and what each mineral means to the peoples who chase it.
Mine Where It Is Safe
Your kibby is unarmed; it never fights back, no matter what finds it at the belt. The Ethereal Expanse is the only fully-secured space in the galaxy, where no raiders spawn at all. Past its borders, mine with an escort or do not mine alone — see Combat for what an unescorted miner is up against.
By the Numbers
- Extract rate — 1 / 3 ticks
- Value per danger tier — x2
- Mineral types — 6
Every three 5-second ticks pull one unit of ore into your hold. Extraction runs on its own, tick after tick, until the hold is full or the belt runs dry.
