Kibby
The Kibby is the fleet's only starter hull — a mining tug with hull 15, shield 5, zero firepower, and a 10-unit cargo hold. Every new commander begins with three of them: two grouped at the starter station and one already parked on a belt, so a fresh commander's first order is a mining run before it is ever a fight.

Role in the fleet
At 100 credits to replace, the Kibby is also the cheapest hull in the fleet — losing one to a pirate or an ambush is a setback, not a disaster. Its whole job is described in Extraction: reach a belt, mine, haul the ore home, sell it. Every credit that trade earns is a step toward the mining line's own upgrade, the Kibby II, or toward the fleet's first armed hull.
A Kibby caught by an armed ship has exactly one tactic: run. Zero firepower does not negotiate.
