Terrain, not ideology
Every other reaver elite carries a story: a creed, a debt, a ledger to settle. The Prowler carries none of it. He is human, like the Rustjaw Chancer, but the two do not repeat each other — the Chancer is a debtor at the frontier's safest edge, hoping to slip back into Rustjaw Den unnoticed; the Prowler is a mid-ladder predator with no debt narrative at all, proof that some who fly under Crimson Corsairs colors take simply because the ground lets them. Auric Maw's black hole is the whole of his advantage: he did not build the ambush, he only noticed it was already there.
One step down from the safest rung
Auric Maw sits at security 5, a clear step more lawless than the Ledgerbleed Skulker's Marrow Reach, and the Prowler answers with a genuine ambush threat where the Skulker only offered paperwork. He flies a Drael, the Corsairs' fast, thin-skinned raider hull — built to strike from the lensing's cover and be gone before a target's shields finish dropping.
Ships that cross Auric Maw learn to distrust their own sensors. By the time the Prowler reads as a contact, he has usually already decided whether to fire.
