Crimson Corsairs
_The frontier belongs to those who take it._ The Crimson Corsairs are exodus survivors who never accepted that the crossing should have ended — where the Nexus Protectorate sees the Expanse as a cradle worth holding, the Corsairs see it as a waystation the convoy stopped at too soon. They were never beaten out of the Expanse; once the Protectorate closed both doors that lead beyond it, raiding simply stopped paying, and that was enough to push them into the deep dark instead.

Creed
Taking is honest; holding it and calling that order a lie with better paperwork — that is the whole Corsair argument, and it is Dralvok in origin without being Dralvok-exclusive. The split between the two factions is ideological, not racial: any commander who agrees taking beats holding can fly Corsair colors, which is why Corsair crews include Human and Khareth pilots alongside their Dralvok leadership in roughly equal number.
Structure
Driven from the secured Expanse and off the main lanes, the Corsairs now work the Crimson Sector approaches and the lawless frontier beyond the Protectorate's reach — the deep dark, where lawful presence cannot follow and the richest voidglass waits. They strike fast and vanish before a response arrives, because lingering is the one thing their creed cannot afford.
Notable Elements
The Corsairs run three tiers of station, not one. Rustjaw Den and Broken Fang Hold are pragmatic dens — buy, sell, repair, nothing more. The Last Lantern, out at the far edge, is different: it keeps its own court and levies tribute on everyone who passes, the faction whose founding creed is "never stop" having quietly built a permanent address and started charging for it. It is the Corsairs' one institution, and their own unspoken admission that the Protectorate's premise was not entirely wrong.
Their most visible elite is the Crimson Skiff Raider, parked one jump outside the Protectorate's hottest door — lightly built, fast, and usually a green commander's first taste of real combat. Where the Protectorate concentrates its strength at a single point, the Corsairs disperse theirs across the whole frontier.
