Crimson Skiff Raider

The Crimson Skiff Raider is the Crimson Corsairs' most visible elite, parked one jump outside the Nexus Protectorate's hottest door at Ferrous Cradle, in the Crimson Sector — sharing the sector with the lawful Redrock Anchorage, the line drawn outside the wall rather than at it. He is usually a new commander's first taste of real combat, the target of the standing, repeatable First Blood bounty every fresh pilot eventually takes.

The honest hunt, in miniature

Dralvok to the bone, the Raider carries the Corsair creed without apology: taking is honest, and holding it and calling that order a lie with better paperwork is the whole of his argument. He flies the same Korrun hull as Warden Kael, the Nexus Protectorate's own anchored guardian — fire 1, shield 4, hull 10 against Kael's fire 8, shield 16, hull 40. Same fixture, opposite mass: the Protectorate concentrates its strength at a single point, the Corsairs disperse theirs across the whole frontier, and the two elites are the argument, in miniature.

Not the same beat as the Rustjaw Chancer

He is not redundant with the Rustjaw Chancer, the debtor found one hop further into lawless space at Wraith Halo: the Raider holds the door itself, a standing bounty-board presence rather than a scripted training contract, and where the Chancer flies a stripped-down Novik, the Raider flies the Corsairs' cruiser-class hull. He is deliberately unaffiliated with the Corsairs' institutional corporation, flying no tag before his name, the same standing exception the Chancer and the Auric Prowler share.

A first kill should feel like a victory, not a coin flip. The Skiff Raider is built to be exactly that — for now.
