Helios Nexus

Helios Nexus is the only pulsar in the galaxy and the only system every new commander starts in — the same system, doing double duty as both the safest possible beginning and the place the Nexus Protectorate still calls home. It anchors the Ethereal Expanse from the inside, at the heart of the one region that was ever fully secured.

It anchors the Ethereal Expanse from the inside, at the heart of the one region that was ever fully secured.

The Only Pulsar

No other system in the generated galaxy carries a pulsar core — Helios Nexus is the one exception, hand-placed rather than left to chance. Its security rating is the highest in the game, sitting at the center of the single safest region there is.

The Protectorate's Seat

The Nexus Protectorate draws its name directly from this system — proof that the fleet made its stand here first and only named itself afterward, at the Closing of the Doors. Warden Kael still stands that watch, anchored in this system's fifth sector, never patrolling and never moving. New commanders launch within sight of the one guardian who has never once left his post.

Krakken's Halt

Every new commander's first station sits in that same sector. Krakken's Halt keeps its stock deliberately basic — the escalation waits at the frontier, not at the starting line.

Everything in the Codex is part of a galaxy you can actually command.
