Basic Stock, By Design
The station sells a starter miner, an escort hull, and a light hauler — buy, sell, and repair, nothing more. Heavier hulls and the advanced miner are gated to frontier stations on purpose: Krakken's Halt is where a commander's career starts, not where any of its harder choices are supposed to be made yet.
The Training Ground
Two training contracts ship from this counter and nowhere else: a first mining run and a first sale, both delivered by Vela, the Concordat's shipboard AI. "Krakken's Halt trains every new commander the same way" — haul ore, sell it, prove you can finish what you start — and the lesson does not count as finished until the cargo is actually sold.
