Phoenix Terminus

Phoenix Terminus is the hot door — the Ethereal Expanse's only gate into Crimson Sector and raider country beyond it, garrisoned since the Closing of the Doors and never sealed since. The name argues both ways at once: a phoenix promises rebirth, a terminus promises an ending, and the gate has been both, for every ship that has ever used it.

The Hot Door

This is where the Crimson Corsairs go to leave, and where they go to come back. The gate itself is ordinary and always open — ships cross it every day, in both directions — but it is watched the entire way. Terminus Beacon, the lawful station standing in this same system, keeps its stock as basic as the ones at Helios Nexus: the frontier does not begin until a ship is already through the gate.

Beyond the Gate

One jump past this gate sits Ferrous Cradle, and Redrock Anchorage — a lawful station that never left, even after the ground around it changed hands more than once. Crimson Sector, beyond it, is what the raiders fell back to once this door stopped being theirs to work. The fight for it is long over. The sector has never gone fully quiet.

Everything in the Codex is part of a galaxy you can actually command.
