Outer Periphery
Outer Periphery is the deepest region in the galaxy, and the least secure by a wide margin — the far end of a long chain of gates leading away from the Ethereal Expanse, where lawful presence effectively stops and the richest ore in the game waits for whoever is willing to work that far out.

The Edge of the Map
Nowhere else sits further from secured space. Patrols that thin out gradually everywhere else fall to nothing at all out here — the Nexus Protectorate's whole doctrine of authority through presence runs out of road before it reaches this region. What is left in its place is the highest-yield voidglass in the galaxy, richer here than anywhere else it can be found, because nobody with a badge is left to stop anyone from taking it.
Last Lantern
The region's only station, Last Lantern, is Corsair-run and unlike any of the Corsairs' other dens. Rustjaw Den and Broken Fang Hold, closer in, are pragmatic — buy, sell, repair, nothing more. Last Lantern keeps its own court and levies tribute on everyone who passes — the same faction whose founding creed is "never stop" quietly built a permanent address out here, the furthest place there is, and started charging admission to reach it.
Where the Retreat Ended
This is the last stop on the road that began at Crimson Sector, the ground the Crimson Corsairs fell back to, tier by tier, after the Closing of the Doors pushed them out of the Expanse for good. There is nowhere left to retreat to from here. Outer Periphery is where the pushback finally stopped, because there was no further out to go.
